Fish Oil May Prevent Macular Degeneration in Women

Many people experience macular degeneration as they get older, a disease of the retina that causes the center field of vision to become blurry. Reading becomes almost impossible, but side vision remains good enough to still be able to do things. A new study soon to be published in the journal Archives of Ophthalmology has found that women who regularly ingested omega 3 fatty acids, like those found in fish oil, were 38% less likely to develop macular degeneration.
